MyPet was founded out of a frustration. The UK pet-microchip world was clunky, expensive, and built more around the businesses involved than the pets and owners it was meant to serve. We thought it could be done better — and that good business and good ethics should go hand in hand.
So we set out to build a new kind of pet-microchip database. One that pet owners would actually find useful. One that vets, breeders and rescues could trust. One that did the unglamorous things — uptime, security, support — properly.
That database still sits at the heart of everything we do. Around it, we've built two more businesses: we supply MyPet Microchips by Trovan to vet practices, breeders, implanters and rescues across the UK, and we build MyVet, our modular practice-management platform for independent veterinary clinics. Every chip we sell, and every appointment booked in MyVet, ends with a pet safely recorded in the MyPet Database.
We're a founding member of AMDO, the industry body for UK microchip database operators, and Defra-compliant — which is the bit the law cares about, and the bit pet owners should care about too.
