A big one this release — the first foundations of customer accounts, smarter prescription matching, an AI search sidekick, and a heap of polish across the portal.
Meet Fetch — your new AI search sidekick
A brand-new “Fetch” tab above Customers lets you ask in plain English and pull back exactly what you need — customers, pets, appointments, prescriptions, inventory, even Connect conversations. Try “find customers named Bob” or “pets with this postcode” and let Fetch do the rummaging for you.

Customer login, on your terms
Pet owners can now log in to your portal with a magic link sent to their email — no password, no fuss — and get their details prefilled on forms like prescription requests. You stay in control: a new “Customer Login enabled” toggle under Portal Features lets you switch this on when you’re ready. It’s off by default.

Prescriptions that match themselves
Prescription requests now auto-match to a customer when the email or mobile number lines up — no more case-sensitivity quirks, and we’ll politely sit out auto-matching when two profiles share an email or number to avoid mix-ups. Pet names get the same fuzzy-friendly treatment, and where the pet can’t be matched we’ll show you what’s already in that customer’s account.

Edit and unmatch prescription details on the fly
Spotted a typo in a customer’s prescription submission? Click the new edit icon and update first name, last name, email, mobile, phone, or pet right from the prescription view. And if the auto-match got it wrong, just unmatch and pick the right customer (or pet) instead.

Add prescription requests by hand
You can now add a repeat prescription manually straight from your dashboard — search the customer, pick the pet, and either type the medication or pull from inventory. A fresh “Source” column in your prescriptions table tells you at a glance which came from MyVet and which from the Portal.

Written prescription requests, ready to roll
A new Prescription Types setting lets you enable Written prescriptions alongside Medication Dispensed. When both are on, customers choose which type they’re requesting, and a new “Prescription Type” column in your table makes it easy to spot which is which — handy for staying CMA-ready.

A tidier prescription pop-over
Updating a prescription order now shows a friendly little toast so you know your changes saved. Click an inventory item to add it instantly (no extra Add click), edit dose quantities inline, and see VAT laid out in the same clean format as appointments.

Stay on top of every conversation in Connect
Conversations in Connect now have a status — New, Waiting on Customer, Waiting on Us, or Closed — so you always know what’s on your plate. Statuses move automatically as messages flow back and forth, you can close out the noise when a chat is done, and starting a fresh conversation politely sets itself to “Waiting on Contact” the moment you send.

A calmer calendar
The day view sizing is sorted, the list view now shows owner details with proper column headers, and it focuses on a single day at a time — easier to skim, harder to miss things. You can also adjust the appointment length when editing an existing appt, just like you can when creating one.

VAT, recorded properly in Stripe
Payments sent to Stripe now record the amount excluding VAT and the VAT itself based on what’s in the line items, all visible right from your Stripe dashboard. Your bookkeeping just got a whole lot tidier.

Deceased pets, easier to spot
Pets marked as deceased now show as a red pill on the customers screen rather than blue — a small but important visual cue that helps you spot them at a glance and avoid any awkward moments.

Small bugs and enhancements
- Sorted out a bug where the “Send notification” pop-over wasn’t appearing when you changed a prescription order to Approved straight from the table.
- Tidied up validation on the MyVet portal — when you fix a field, the error message now politely steps aside instead of hanging around.
